For some positions, this works well. An external recruiter usually comes into the picture when the hiring process takes longer than expected. Companies also get curious when they hear success stories from friends, colleagues, or partners who have used recruitment services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The next question becomes: is it even necessary to involve external help (like an agency or headhunter)? Not always. Especially when there are many candidates available for a lower-responsibility role. Still, there are situations where working with an external recruiter pays off and becomes the fastest way to find the right talent.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our recruiter in the construction and engineering field, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/kadimikson\/\"><strong>Kadi Mikson<\/strong><\/a>, shares from her experience and client <a href=\"https:\/\/relancer.com\/profile\/southwestern-recruitment\"><strong>feedback<\/strong><\/a> when and why it makes sense to consider external recruitment help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Role complexity <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The more responsibility the role holds, the more thoughtful the recruitment process should be. Before starting, the hiring manager or HR should answer:  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What position needs to be filled? <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What skills, personality, and experience would help someone succeed in this role? <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What value does the company offer to this new hire? <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A recruiter can help define the candidate profile, value proposition, and conduct a market analysis to see how many matching candidates exist. If you&#8217;re looking for a specialist or executive in a complex role, remember that top candidates often move through referrals or recruiters, not job ads.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. A wide candidate network <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the biggest benefits of working with a recruiter is their existing network\u2014people they\u2019ve already spoken to. There&#8217;s already trust and knowledge of what would make that candidate consider a new job.<br>If the recruiter has worked on similar roles before, they\u2019ll know how to assess candidates and target the right ones. Saving time <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>One key factor in recruitment is time. Does the manager or HR team have time to fully focus on hiring? And what are they sacrificing to do that? They already have other responsibilities, so expecting them to run a full headhunting process isn\u2019t realistic.
